Ayia Napa Church Mixed Use Development, Limassol
The proposal is for a mixed use development comprising of a luxury 5 star Boutique Town Hotel with a cafeteria, bar and shops at the ground level, a multipurpose venue center at mezzanine level and a restaurant and pool deck at the roof level, 6 levels of open plan office space and 2 levels of luxury residential serviced accommodation.
The proposed building sits on a podium at the level of the existing Ayia Napa Church creating a public Piazza with open landscape areas connecting the Historic Town with the seafront promenade. The design offers uninterrupted views to the Limassol promenade and the Mediterranean Sea beyond with the aim to further beautify Limassol and encourage growth in the center and tourism for Cyprus as a whole.
The design concept is based on creating a development that not only fulfills our clients wishes but more importantly, as locals of Limassol, creates a landmark for the town connecting the Historic Town with the Seafront Promenade. This is achieved by designing a public piazza with restaurants, cafes and shops at the existing level of the Ayia Napa Church, elevated from the busy seafront road, that offers landscaped shaded and open areas with uninterrupted sea views.
The building proposal and materials is a combination of glass areas at the piazza level to maximize the view to the Church from all areas and stone facades at the upper levels respecting and fitting with the materiality of the existing Limassol Historic Town.
Every aspect of this proposed development aims to encourage pedestrian public flow throughout the piazza at the existing Ayia Napa Church level and as a whole to attract people from all over the world, time and time again, making Limassol a world leading destination.
