Vila 13 Private Apartment, Pissouri, 2015
This project is a conversion of an existing ground floor car park / garage area of a private vila in Pisouri into a luxury 2 bedroom apartment. The design concept is based on japanese inspired interiors and high end craftsmanship, trying to maximise the natural daylight exposure into all the living spaces and through to the bedrooms at the back. Constructed from a lightweight steel structure, the new apartment sits comfortably within the garage space, without affecting the uses below of the car parking area. Both bedrooms open up into the living space and kitchen void, allowing natural "borrowed" daylight into these spaces. A series of handcrafted timber sliding doors slide open and act like screens providing both privacy and an ambient light effect into the bedrooms.
The use of wallpaper and locally sourced wood has allowed us to visually manipulate the proportions of the spaces and to create a warm and cosy interior.
The interior soft and hard furnishings for this apartment have been provided byThesis Furniture Showrooms
