Multi level house, Ekali, Limassol, 2008
It is always difficult to handle a building that has street facade, main view orientation, garden, main entrance (car and pedestrian) all on the same side. To achieve privacy from the busy main road and to maximise the view the entrance is from the belly of the house on the lower ground floor at street level and up through to the upper ground floor where the main living areas are grouped around a swimming pool courtyard and garden that are placed on top of the garage area with views over the road to the sea. On the first floor are the bedrooms and on the top floor a study and guest room. The concrete frame of this building is used in a cabinet making fashion with various spaces/rooms pulled out of the frame almost like drawers in a cupboard.
