Columbia Pissouri Beach Hotel, Pissouri, 2005

This 3 star hotel was built in 1978 and after 6 years of unsuccessful operation it was bought by its present owner, Columbia Hotels. We were commissioned to make minor changes while working on a long term master plan to turn this hotel and the adjoining land into an exclusive beach resort. After the completion of the new Columbia resort in 2005 the old beach hotel was renovated and extended to bring the building up to the same luxury standard. The project took 9 months to complete and during that time the 1970`s concrete structure was reinforced, existing balconies were incorporated into the rooms and a  steel saddle like structure was hung from the roof to create new balconies. The public areas as well as the back of house, kitchens, store rooms etc. were repositioned and equipped to a high standard. All furniture and soft furnishings by Thesis.
